customize register event page fields (or remove some of them)

Hi,
we already run our page with a working register event page. But we need to customize the frontend form for submitting events for usabillity purposes. (We only need a few basic fields and want to hide the rest of them). There seems no backend editor to do so.

We tied it via CSS “display:none” but there are no individual destinct IDs per field / fieldgroup or block we can address.

What is the best way to hide all the not needed fields from the frontend user?”
