Countdown Auto Next event

Hello,

So I created a Countdown shortcode, which it works, but I want it to automatically shows the next event looking the events date and time, but till now, I leave blank the “Choose event” field, and blank start date, so it always will take todays date as starting point. But after I save it, it won’t show anything on the web page. Then I choose one event and it works.

I want it to work without me choosing next event all the time.

Please help.
