Change background behind title on image slider

Hi
I am following on from a comment about adding a background to the title of the images in the image slider, as they text is hard to read.
I have tried these in teh custom CSS tab, but it doesn;t seem to be working.
Please see attached screenshot:

.lg-sub-html, .lg-toolbar { background-color: #333 !important;}
.lg-toolbar.lg-group, .lg-sub-html{ background-color: #333 !important; }

Any suggestions?
